Neighbors Voice Their Concerns in Crime Meeting

Dozens at Thursday's crime meeting at St. Peter's Cathedral say they want to see more police patrols in their neighborhoods.

Those living in the Edgewater, Signal Hill and Churchill Grove neighborhoods in Rockford were able to get answers straight from law enforcement agencies like Rockford Police Chief Chet Epperson, Winnebago County State's Attorney Joe Bruscato and 17th Circuit Court Chief Judge Joe Mcgraw.

Tom Gilkey says there's been break-ins and robberies in his area... He says neighbors needs to help by calling police.

"Main thing that's important is that we stand together and that we take care of our neighbors and be good citizens. Be alert in watching what's going on," said Gilkey.

Alderman Tom Mcnamara says this is the first of a few upcoming neighborhood meetings. They're all open to the public.
