DEKALB (WIFR) – If your kids are heading off to college soon, use this story to relay the consequences of binge drinking.
The family of David Bogenberger just updated their wrongful death lawsuit. He’s the NIU freshman who died while pledging the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity last fall.
Details released today show he and 18 other pledges were forced to drink more than two dozen shots of vodka. Most of them passed out. The suit says instead of fraternity leaders calling an ambulance, each pledge was given a bucket to use for vomit. It also states a pike officer sent out a mass text to members, telling them to delete any photos or videos of unconscious pledges.
Many of the students involved are charged with hazing. Some have since been kicked out of school.
