ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- One of three teens accused in a 2007 murder plead guilty today and accepted a 23-year sentence.
Nick Halsted was 28-years-old when his home was robbed and he was shot in the head.
Philip Scherer plead guilty Wednesday morning.
He'll get more than five years credit for time already served.
A jury found the alleged trigger man not guilty in 2010.
The family says they were hoping for the maximum sentence, but they're just glad it's over.
