ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A week of free financial classes is coming back to the Stateline next month.
Money Smart Week is meant to help people manage their finances better. It’s a program sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Nearly 3,000 people attended last year. Classes focus on topics like coupon clipping and surfing the web. This year’s chair of the event says young adults are the primary focus.
“It’s very important to get into their hands right away so that when they get older and they are faced with those tough financial decisions, they can make wise ones,” said 2014 Money Smart Week Chair, Jason Haller.
Classes will be available April 5th through 12th in six area counties.
