ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Starting Saturday and lasting all week we can get help getting our finances in order as part of Money Smart Week.
There were two classes Saturday in Rockford to get things started. One was for kids, the other one was for adults interested in estate planning. Instructors explained what estate plans are, who benefits, and broke down basic plans.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago hosts the free seminars which focus on everything from thrifty shopping to retirement planning.
"It's a good thing with the Money Smart Week to bring in the two together because people don't realize, they think their money's smart, but then they realize when they pass away, they had no will, they had no plan. So to combine these two together this week is a really good idea," Attorney Tim Whitham, said.
