MOUNT MORRIS (WIFR) – A former minister from Mount Morris, accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old won’t be going to prison.
65-year-old Charles Babler got 18 months of probation after pleading guilty to aggravated batter of a child. Babler must register as a violent offender and go to counseling. Babler is a former campus pastor at Crossroads Community Church in Polo. He was arrested back in June 2013 after an investigation into the alleged incident in early 2011.
Babler faced up to seven years in prison.
