FREEPORT (WIFR) -- A 21-year-old man apparently suffering from some form of a mental illness walked out of Freeport Memorial Hospital early this morning, triggering a two-hour manhunt.
Authorities say the patient was brought in from the Warren area around 6:00 Wednesday morning. He walked out of the hospital in his hospital gown. Freeport Police believe he stole a car.
Police say all Freeport schools were put on lockdown. A couple hours later, he was found and arrested without incident in Forreston.
