ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Rockford fast food workers say they need to be paid more.

Workers from McDonald’s rallied outside locations earlier today in the 900 block of West Riverside Boulevard and the 3700 block of Auburn Road. Employees say they should be paid at least $15 an hour. They also want the right to form a union without retaliation.

“We’re only making $8.25 to $9.25 an hour and we think that we deserve more with McDonald’s making all of this money and we’re not seeing where it’s going. We’re not able to provide for our families but they’re able to provide for their families and they don’t have a worry or a doubt.

After the protests here in Rockford, workers drove to Chicago to join more rallies there.
