ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Future doctors all across the country found out today where they’ll head for the next step in their training.
Today is match day, the day when med students are paired up with their residency program. Family and friends cheered on students from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford as they learned their matches.
Students are headed off to hospitals in California, New York, and more. They’ll start as interns in specialties such as emergency medicine and pediatrics.
