Man Sentenced for Sex Abuse Charge

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WIFR) -- Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announces that 61-year-old Scott Fink was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

Fink will also be on Mandatory Supervised Release for 2 years once he’s released from prison and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his natural life.

Fink was arrested in June of 2012 after Rockford Police conducted a child pornography sting. Detectives found inappropriate videos on Fink’s camera. Fink also admitted to having inappropriate contact with at least one child between 2008 and 2012.

Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is a Class 2 Felony that has a sentencing range of between 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. It also carries a penalty of up to two years Mandatory Supervised Release.
