Man Sentenced for Attempted First Degree Murder

OREGON (WIFR) -- The Ogle County State's Attorney has announced that on November 7, 2012 Judge Michael Mallon sentenced 42-year-old Jamil Saleh, of Orland Park, to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on the charge of Attempt First Degree Murder and 20 years consecutive in the Illinois Department of Corrections on the charge of Armed Violence.

Saleh had been found guilty by an Ogle County jury on October 16, 2012. Saleh faced a potential prison sentence of 16 to 60 years. Due to truth in sentencing, he will serve 34 years of the 40 year term.
