UPDATE: MACHESNEY PARK (WIFR) – A Machesney Park father is sentenced to six and a half years in prison for abusing his baby, leaving the child with permanent brain damage.

37-year-old Matthew McNabb was convicted of Aggravated Battery to a child last November.
Back on New Year's Day in 2006, McNabb called 9-1-1 because his three month old son wasn't breathing.

Prosecutors say the baby's injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome. McNabb will also be on three years mandatory supervision once he's released.
