BELOIT (WIFR) -- A man was arrested on an attempted homicide charge in Beloit after he's accused of stabbing his future son-in-law.

Beloit Police arrested 51-year-old Norman Bourgord yesterday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed 24-year-old Joshua Pope in his upper right arm. Pope is okay and family members tell us Bourgord has been off his medication because of the flu and was not in the right state of mind when it happened.

The family, including the victim Pope, are asking Beloit Police to drop the charges against Bourgord.
