STATELINE (WIFR) -- It’s election day in the Stateline for local consolidated races and voters still have time to get to the polls.
The number of people coming through the polling place inside Riverfront Museum Park is a small number compared to the larger, November election. That trend seems to carry throughout Rockford and Winnebago County. The County predicted a 12-5% voter turnout. However, they do not think it will get close to 12 percent. Election Commissioners will not have official numbers until after the polls close at 7.
As far as ballot scanners go, we are told there have not been any major problems or glitches, so things seem to be moving along nicely, just waiting for more people to show up.
Some of the bigger races tonight include mayoral seats for Rockford, Freeport, Belvidere, Loves Park and Machesney Park.
