Symetra, in partnership with the Chicago Bears, honored Mr. Doyle on November 14. Mr. Doyle was nominated for the award by senior Danielle Harris, co-editor-in-chief of The North View, the school's newspaper.
Among the gifts provided by Symetra and the Chicago Bears was a check for $1,000 to the school, a personalized jersey for Mr. Doyle and two tickets to this Sunday's Bears-Vikings game. He will be recognized during the game on the Bears' scoreboard.
The Symetra Heroes in the Classroom program honors k-12 teachers in three other NFL markets: Seattle, Atlanta, and San Francisco. Each football season 16 teachers are selected in support of programs that make differences in the lives of students and teachers.
