ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Right now nearly 100,000 people are waiting on life-saving organ transplants nationwide. That's exactly why a local group is trying to reach out to those in need.
Today dozens turned out to Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall for their annual blood and marrow drive. Every day 40,000 units of blood are needed to save thousands of lives. The Rock River Valley Blood Center hosted today's event. The organization provides units to local hospitals.
