(MACHESNEY PARK) -- A woman whose mother lost her fight with cancer is creating her mother's dream in her memory.
Tammy Gowin recently opened up a resale store in Machesney Park, The What-Not Shop, and today was the grand opening. But it's the story behind the store that has real meaning. Gowin's mother passed away from stomach cancer in April and it was always her mothers' dream to open up a resale shop for the less fortunate. After her mother passed, Gowin opened up a shop, but had to close it because she didn't have money. But she didn't give up, and now she's re-opened in a new location.
If you would like to donate any used good, including clothes, shoes, books, toys, and dining ware, you can donate them at the store, located at 7823 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park, during store hours:
Sunday-Thursday 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Wednesday 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
