ROCKTON (WIFR) – The streets in Middle America resemble a Middle East war zone and we’ve learned a photographer with ties to the Stateline is one of many caught up in it all.
Nearly 80 people were arrested in the streets of Ferguson, Missouri last night and only four of those arrests were people with a Ferguson address. We’ve learned a local photographer was among those placed in handcuffs.
Video taken and posted on Instagram by user @amykfullnelson/ANIMAL New York, shows Getty Images photographer Scott Olson getting arrested by Ferguson Police. Olson is a 1979 Hononegah graduate who has been in the St. Louis area since August 11th, covering the unrest following last week’s fatal police shooting of unarmed teenager, Michael Brown.
Of the 78 people arrested last night, Olson was the only one charged with interfering with an officer. He’s been released from jail and is back to work on the streets of Ferguson.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will be in Ferguson tomorrow to get the latest on the federal investigation into the shooting of the teen. Holder will also meet with community leaders to discuss the violence that’s gripping the St. Louis suburb.
