UPDATE: SOUTH BELOIT (WIFR) – A new hotel option is now open for business in the Stateline.

The Garden Hotel and Convention Center on the corner of 251 and 75 in South Beloit held a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon and is now open for overnight guests.

There have been previous tenants in the building, however none were able to achieve long-term success. However, because of the location there is greater hope for long lasting success for the new business.

“Being on the Illinois/Wisconsin border, we’re serviced by Visit Beloit and the RACVB so that’ll help with a lot of the groups that come in to town, not only in Illinois, but in Wisconsin,” said Chad Bryden, general manager of the hotel.

While the hotel is now accepting guests, the restaurant portion of the building is not finished yet, but will be opening soon.

SOUTH BELOIT (WIFR) – A Stateline hotel is getting a makeover after sitting empty for three years.

The South Beloit Inn off Gardner Street is now the Garden Hotel in South Beloit. The building is under new management and will feature more than 160 rooms, indoor pool and on site restaurant and bar. Manager Chad Bryden says the hotel is the perfect location for travelers, especially people visiting for tournaments.

Bryden says they plan to hire several workers for housekeeping and the restaurant. The hotel is expected to open this fall.
