Local Company Hoping for More Downtown Business

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local business re-opens its doors to the public at their new not-so-distant location.

The owners of Pirate Ninja print shop in Rockford just opened a new retail store on East State Street. They were formally located on the second floor of the building. Today is the company's grand opening celebration. Employees completely renovated the space, which was originally owned by a salon. The business will sell custom t-shirts and other art related items.

Jarrod Hennis, Owner, says, "We love being downtown we see the positive move, and we want to keep down here and keep pushing. There is something good down here it is just slowly happening."

Right now, the state is trying to help other business owners who are trying to expand food-based companies. On November 1st the Illinois Department of Agriculture is hosting a seminar to help strength businesses. The event is in Rosemont.
