Local church's took time out of their weekly sermons praising god, to praise their members who served in the military.
At the Westminster Presbyterian Church, dozens of church members who served as far back as World War II took to the front of the chapel to be recognized for their service.
The Third Presbyterian Church showed a video montage of pictures taken of church members while serving in the armed forces.
"Brings back a lot of memories, that's for sure," said WWII veteran Vern Friday. "It's like it was yesterday."
"Unless you've been there, you don't really understand," said veteran Earl Lutzow. "But, we're able to disagree, to agree, whatever we want in this country, and that's because of the veterans."
