ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- With Easter just a day away, the Discovery Center and Burpee Museum joined forces to put on an Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza.
Kids ages two through nine raced to grab as many candy and prize filled eggs as they could get their hands on.
"[There's] lots of squealing and laughing and giggling from the kids, lots of excitement and parents are pretty much trying to follow their kids in the frenzy," said Marketing Coordinator MacKenna Atteberry.
10,000 eggs were hidden in the grass for the two separate hunts.
Along with the egg hunt, kids could pet the animals and look at the fossilized eggs.
The pre-Easter celebration continued inside Court Street United Methodist Church where they held a rock 'n roll party.
Parents and kids enjoyed arts and crafts as well as snacks and games.
The church plans to begin its resurrection celebration with music at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
