Lincoln Middle School Awarded $22,000 Grant

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- For the second year, Lincoln Middle School has been awarded a grant of $22,000 from the
Crull Family Trust Scholarship for Forensics and Sciences Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern
Illinois. The grant allows students to create a science laboratory and work in cooperative learning groups.
The goal is hands-on investigation using proper safety equipment and scientific methods.

The lab was in full operation for the first time during the 2012-2013 school year. The second year of the
grant will bring much needed technology support including incubators, scientific calculators and iPads.

The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is the area’s largest provider of grants and scholarships. Its
mission is to attract, grow and preserve an endowment for the needs of the people of Northern Illinois. For
