Freeport movie-goers met the star of a film this weekend, who also happened to be one of the most popular presidents in our country's history.
"They like to know that a fella is about his business, and sticking to it til the job is done," said Abraham Lincoln impersonator George Buss. "And I think that's what most Americans aspire to."
Buss greeted customers to the Lindo Theatre in Freeport before they headed into the President's Hollywood film. One 10-year-old girl said she chose to see our sixteenth president instead of Santa Claus today.
"It was awesome," said Audra Ettelbrick, who came to the theater because she heard Lincoln would also be there. "I really liked meeting him because he is my favorite president."
The Lincoln impersonator said he watched the movie a total of five times this weekend.
For 15 years, George Buss has been re-enacting the Lincoln-Douglas debates, which took place in Freeport more than 150 years ago.
