ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford's west side will most likely continue to to get served.
Local leaders took part in a phone conference today with Secretary of State Jesse White.
State Senator Dave Syverson tells us white is open to the possibility of starting a new satellite branch on Rockford's west side.
That's in response to the Auburn facility closing at the end of the month.
They're now in the process of deciding where that would go.
Syverson says, "We have Singer for example that's on the west side, that's kind of centrally located, easy to get to. They clearly have space out there, that could be an ideal location for an express facility. So we've got some ideas."
The Secretary of State's office is expected to soon provide data on what services are used the most in our area.
Local leaders will then decide on the best way to proceed.
