ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A historic home in Rockford hasn't just struck the curiosity from those in the Stateline, but has also gotten attention from countries overseas.
A group of more than fifty people made the long trip from the Netherlands to visit the famous Laurent House. The group was made up of architects, interior designers, urban planners and artists. Most of them are followers of the works of Frank Lloyd Wright who designed the house.
"Very curious because obviously Mr. Wright designed it for Mr. Laurent. So, I'm very curious how he took everything into concentration to design a house for a disable person," Mireille Vrinten, who is visiting from the Netherlands, said.
The single-story home was strictly built to be wheelchair accessible for the late Kenneth Laurent. He lived with his wife Phyllis for almost 62 years.
