Hundreds braved the cold weather Saturday morning to wait in line to vote on the last official day of early voting.
Since 8 A.M., officials at the Rockford Board of Elections office said a steady stream of people were lined up down the block waiting to cast their ballots.
Today is the last day to vote in the general election before election day on Tuesday, November 6. Every one who was voting ahead of time had their own reasons for doing so.
"I'm out of town every day during the week, and didn't get a chance to get here last weekend. So waiting in line for over an hour for voting," said Thomas Beebee.
"I want to see change and you know, I'm going to stick it out in line even though I'm not sure how much it's going to do. I don't want to sit it out and say I did nothing," said Steve Benson.
The Rockford election office stopped allowing people in at noon on Saturday. The surrounding county clerk offices also finished early voting in the afternoon.
Polls open again on Tuesday from seven in the morning to seven at night. Check back here at W-I-F-R for our election day coverage.
