JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- A local hospital is alerting some of its patients to a possible data breach.
Saint Mary’s Janesville Hospital says a laptop was stolen from an employee’s car and the thief could have access to more than 600 patients’ personal information. If you were in their emergency department between the first of the year and August 26th, expect a letter from the hospital soon.
Hospital officials say the laptop didn’t give the thief any social security numbers, addresses, or financial information of any kind.
