WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WIFR) -- In the last decade and a half, more than 40,000 Stateline children have found comfort in some of the most difficult situations and it’s all because of a local group watching out for our kids.
The Kids’ Place inside the Winnebago County Justice Center is celebrating its 15th year in the Stateline today. The organization provides secure waiting rooms for children going through the court system with family issues. It’s a spot to play games, listen to music, and just get away from the intimidating and sometimes traumatic environment.
“Court is more efficient and it protects kids from hearing anything they shouldn't in the courtroom."
The spot is open to kids 2-12 years old.
