ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Keith Country Day School Scholastic Bowl Team just captured third place in the IHSA Class 1A finals on March 26.
Now, only a few weeks later, on April 11, Keith School’s World Youth Science and Engineering team was awarded third place in the Illinois State Finals Competition held in Champaign, Illinois. Keith School has had teams previously qualify for WYSE state finals, but this was the highest place finish for Keith teams. The competition is designed to test a team’s knowledge across the entire curriculum.
Max Moore placed first and Ben Ross placed fifth in the Biology individual awards. In chemistry, Max Moore placed sixth. In physics, Foster Zhen placed second, Jacob Jang placed fifth, and Soros Lui placed sixth.
The Keith School team advisor, Mr. Brad Fischer, commends the Keith students on their performance. “These results really reflect on the academic excellence that is part of the Keith School college-prep curriculum. The entire faculty supported the team’s preparation for this prestigious event. They were impressive.”
