ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Eight years after Baby Crystal was killed, her mom will head to trial at the end of the month.
Katie Stockton was in court today for her final pre-trial hearing, where a judge ruled what kind of evidence will be allowed to be used in front of a jury.
Prosecutors will show several crime scene photos and pictures of what a typical growing fetus looks like. They want to that to prove Baby Crystal was born alive, before she was left to die in the cold.
Defense attorneys argued too many images might be used to get sympathy from the jury. Also today, Judge John Truitt decided on specific questions he'll ask during jury selection, to figure out how familiar they are with the case and if they could be fair to Katie Stockton.
Her trial starts February 25th. If convicted, she faces life in prison.
