KSB Hospital and Physicians Immediate Care Announce Plans for Urgent Care Clinic in Dixon

DIXON (WIFR) -- KSB Hospital, the leading not-for-profit health system serving Dixon-area residents, and Physicians Immediate Care – the largest urgent care provider in Illinois – have announced a joint venture to open an urgent care clinic at 1672 South Galena Avenue (in front of Walmart).

The state-of-the-art clinic will be fully equipped with X-ray capability, lab testing and seven exam rooms -- including a pediatric room and trauma room -- for treating non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses. When it opens in late July, the walk-in medical facility will treat patients from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

The clinical affiliation brings together the expertise of two trusted, well-established health care providers with a strong market presence in the state. In addition to adding a retail-oriented urgent care offering, it also bolsters the combined occupational health capabilities. Physicians Immediate Care helps thousands of Illinois businesses control their health care costs, treating injuries that happen at work and handling drug or alcohol testing and pre-employment physicals.

Patients will have continuity of care across even more of their health care needs. KSB Hospital and Physicians Immediate Care can now offer patients a full continuum of care and will share information with patients about each other’s services: wellness and prevention, primary care, specialist care, urgent care and the emergency department. The two organizations will coordinate care to ensure that patients get initial treatment when they need it and follow-up care where it’s most appropriate.

“Coordinated care really means that the family doctor, hospital and urgent care provider work together to make it even easier for patients to get the best care possible,” said Stan Blaylock, CEO of Physicians Immediate Care. “We’ll securely share important patient information like test results, medical history, diagnoses and treatment plans. Collaborating with KSB Hospital, we intend to make the health care experience more efficient and affordable for everyone.”
