STATELINE (WIFR) -- In honor of Independence day, Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful will be collecting cell phones to donate to Cell Phones for Soldiers. Both KNIB recycling centers will also be open for the holiday weekend, Saturday, July 5.
“All cell phones recycled on July 5 will be shipped to “Cell Phones for Soldiers” to help veterans and active-duty military in need of cost-free communication services at home or overseas,” Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful Executive Director Lori Gummow said.
The two Recycle Centers are at 13125 N. 2nd Street, Roscoe and 4665 Hydraulic Road, Rockford. Each is operated by volunteers year-round from 9 a.m. – Noon, Saturdays.
