ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A partnership has begun between some companies to help dramatically improve the quality of life for children and their families.
Training is arriving in the most challenged neighborhoods to strengthen communication and employment skills.
The new job training workshop targets the unemployed in the Ellis Heights and Midtown neighborhoods. The United Way of Rock River Valley partnered with workforce development institute and Rockford Rescue Mission to build up key job skills like setting goals, problem solving and how to work well with others. Self-motivation and negotiation skills will also be emphasized.
Training will be held at Rockford Rescue Mission’s main campus on West State Street, starting in mid-October.
