Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Three people believed to have taken part in an armed robbery have been arrested.

Just after 9:30 p.m. on February 21st, 2013, the Rockford Police Department responded to the area of Belmont and Normandy in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers met with the victims who advised they were victims of an attempted Armed Robbery where a shot was fired. A description was broadcasted of the suspects and suspect vehicle.
A short time later the suspect vehicle was located in the 3500 block of Latham Street. A perimeter was set up and the suspects were located hiding in a shed in the area. During the investigation a quantity of a substance believed to be cannabis was recovered.

Follow up investigation was conducted into the incident. The following suspects were arrested and charged with the following:
Jaleel Lake, 17 years of age, Rockford, Illinois
Attempted Armed Robbery
Aggravated Battery
Mob Action

Donquez D. Ashford, 18 years of age, Rockford, Illinois
Attempted Armed Robbery
Aggravated Battery
Mob Action

James Watkins, 19 years of age, Rockford, Illinois
Attempted Armed Robbery
Aggravated Battery
Mob Action
Possession with the intent to deliver cannabis
