JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- On 07/17/13 at approximately 1353 hours, Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a rollover crash on S. Summerville Road, which is a gravel road, near the overpass for Interstate 43 in Clinton Township. Fire/EMS personnel from the Village of Clinton and City of Beloit also responded along with a UW Med-Flight helicopter and a first response medical doctor with Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville.

The investigation shows a 2006 Kia Optima, driven by Sokhon Pek, age 46, of Janesville, was traveling southbound on S. Summerville Road, south of the I-43 overpass, when she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then crossed the road, entered the east ditch, rolled over multiple times and came to rest on it’s roof.

Sokhon Pek and a front seat passenger, Pea Pek, age 38, of Janesville, had been wearing their seatbelts prior to the crash and were transported via ambulance to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries. A backseat passenger, Loeun Oeun, age 45, of Janesville, was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Chris Wistrom at 1505 hours.

Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to reconstruct the crash, which remains under investigation at this time. No citations or charges have been filed at this point and S. Summerville Road was closed for nearly 3½ hours during the investigation.
