JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- The Janesville Police Department has announced the hiring of four new police officers. They are as follows:
Jason D. Bier
Officer Bier is from Janesville, WI, age 35. He graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, in May 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in social work. Officer Bier was most recently working for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as a probation officer. He also works for the City of Janesville as a sports official and is a Junior Varsity Soccer Head Coach at Parker High School. Officer Bier is married to Jennifer and has two children.
Alexander W. Erlien
Officer Erlien is from Janesville, WI, age 23. He graduated in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in philosophy. Officer Erlien is a graduate of the UW-ROTC Program and served in the United States Navy from 2011-2012. He continues to serve in the US Navy Reserves. Officer Erlien was employed at Van Galder Bus Company, Janesville, WI.
Thomas J. Northrop
Officer Northrop is from Beloit, WI, age 23. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in finance. Officer Northrop’s most recent employment was with the Municipal Credit Union in Beloit, Wisconsin. Officer Northrop attended the Law Enforcement Academy at Blackhawk Technical College and is certifiable as a police officer in the State of Wisconsin.
Carmen M. Roche
Officer Roche is from Greendale, WI, age 27. She graduated from Bryant and Stratton College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, December, 2012. Officer Roche’s most recent employment was with the Milwaukee Academy working as a Youth Specialist/Relief Supervisor.
