Janesville Man Arrested For 9th OWI

JANESVILLE (WIFR) – On Saturday around 6pm, Janesville Police Department responded to a domestic related disturbance at 122 Royal Court. The suspect was making threats toward his girlfriend over the telephone. Officer’s made contact at the residence. Information was gained during the initial contact at the residence indicating the suspect was driving in the area of Palmer Park and possibly armed with a weapon.

Officer Daniel Schoonover located the suspect at S. Main St. and Clark St. driving in a vehicle. Officer Schoonover initiated a traffic stop on Tyler St. and S Garfield Ave. The suspect stopped on Tyler St. at Sharon Ave.

Contact was made with Shane Clark, of Beloit. He displayed signs of intoxication.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Rock County Jail on several charges including: Disorderly conduct while armed, unlawful use of a telephone, OWI – 9th offense, driving too fast for conditions, failure to stop at a stop sign, not wearing a seatbelt, and having open alcohol in the car.
