JANESVILLE (WIFR) – The Janesville Fire Department is investigating a house fire that happened just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night at 15 S. Lexington Drive.
When firefighters arrived they found a single story residence with heavy fire and smoke showing from the front and back of the home. Occupants of the residence were out of the structure.
After 30 minutes, firefighters had the fire under control and units remained on scene for 4 hours. One occupant of the residence was taken to Mercy Hospital for evaluation. The Fire Department estimates the total loss including both the residence and its contents to be over $156,000.
The fire is still under investigation.
