Industrial Park Brings 100+ Jobs

MACHESNEY PARK (WIFR) – We could see a few fast food joints and retail shops along I-90 and Route 173 as part of the “Park 90” project, a plan that’s already bringing in more than 100 jobs to the area.

Developers are in talks with a few manufacturing companies looking to set up shop along I-90 and Route 173. Machesney Park’s village board is expected to give the OK for the Park 90 project tonight. Three companies have moved in so far including local pool supplier SCP as well as packaging manufacturer HMC and a third unnamed business. This project has brought in more than 120 jobs.

“It gives Machesney Park residents and Loves Park residents a place to work that is closer to home. It helps the school districts with eventual tax base and overall it’s a good indicator of the health of the community,” says Village Administrator Tim Savage.

Landmark Developers say out of the 200 acres, only 16 have been used so there’s a lot of room for more businesses to move in. One of the developers tell us they’re in talks with retailers and restaurants, likely a fast food place.
