LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- Looking for hidden treasure? Well the state of Illinois could be holding on to your money.

Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford stopped by Loves Park to talk about the I-Cash Program. It's a web site that tells us if the state has any of our belongings, that ranges from money from old checking accounts to stuff left inside safety deposit boxes.

Rutherford says in Winnebago County alone there are more than $22 million in unclaimed property. Even some people in the crowd today discovered the state had some of their stuff.

"None of this is paid for at the taxpayers expense. This is all coming out of self fund from the unclaimed property program. The more money we can put back into the purses and wallets of the public it's there property, I think that is one of the greatest economic developments we have going," Rutherford said.

Last year, more than $129 million was returned to illinois residents. To see if the state has some of your stuff go the the Illinois Treasurer's website at
