ILLINOIS (WIFR) -- The Illinois Lottery re-launched their online sales portal to include the ability to purchase Powerball tickets from the comfort of a desk or a home.
Illinois will become the first state to offer Powerball tickets to be purchased online as a single sale ticket. Along with adding Powerball to the site—www.myillinoislottery.com—players will see new changes throughout the Lottery’s new website, making buying tickets much more user-friendly. The biggest change on the newly designed website will be the ability to play Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto using cellphones and other mobile devices including iPads as long as they are connected via Wi-Fi.
The road to Internet sales began more than three years ago when the Illinois legislature passed amendments to the Lottery Law that approved the Internet Pilot. All profits generated through lottery sales over the Internet will go toward building roads and bridges throughout Illinois.
