ISP Gets New Trooper

PECATONICA (WIFR) -- A new state trooper joins the ranks at the Illinois State Police District 16 headquarters in Pecatonica.

Trooper Bryan McPeek's first day on the job was on Monday. Last week he graduated with 55 other cadets to become a member of the Illinois State Police. The cadets went through a rigorous 25 week program before earning their badges. Mcpeek who is from Stephenson County says he's excited to be back home and start his new job.

"It's an ever-changing environment. You're constantly outside working, you get to meet new people all the time so it's never the same thing twice," McPeek said.

McPeek has another 14 weeks of training at district 16 headquarters before going out on patrol by himself.
