FREEPORT (WIFR) -- Local artists took over Krape Park in Freeport to showcase their talents and entertain the community.
Around 40 artists took part in the 7th annual Art in the Park event, which included a wide array of artwork including photography, ceramics and jewelry.
Families could enjoy food and music while browsing the stalls, plus there were art activities for kids of any age. Vendors say they enjoy the family friendly atmosphere as well as the peaceful setting.
"This is right up our alley. This is exactly the kind of thing we like to do at the art museum is support the artists, support some education and awareness of the really talented folks that we have in our region," Freeport Art Museum Executive Director Jessica Modica, said.
Organizers estimate more than 5,000 people stopped in to check out this one day art show. It’s sponsored by the Freeport Art Museum and the Freeport Park District.
