STATELINE (WIFR) – Local realtors are blaming a decrease in housing sales in February on more than just the cold, they say it’s a perfect storm of more foreclosures and fewer homes up for sale.

Nearly 200 homes were sold in February, down 11% compared to last year, the 3-month average has dropped nearly 7% to just under $90,000 that’s the lowest February average sales price since statistics started being collected in 1999. Realtors say they expect better numbers very soon.

The number of homes for sale has also dropped to about 1,800.
