ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A man accused of breaking into a home on Rockford's West Side, turns himself in to Police.
28-year-old Nicholas Bryant was taken into custody shortly after 4:00 inside the public safety building. Bryant and 24-year-old Mechos Freeman both face home invasion and gun related charges for allegedly breaking into a home on Burton Street earlier this month.
Police say they shot and killed the family dog and then went upstairs into a bedroom, struck a 23-year-old man over the head, and shot him in the leg. Freeman was arrested last Friday.
