BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- Heritage Days kicks off in Belvidere and it started with some go-kart racing.
More than 50 drivers competed in the races on Saturday. It's just one of the many events that make up Heritage Days.
For those not interested in the races there was also an art show and a car show, along with a cruise-in and live music, but it seemed like the go-karts were the big attraction.
"It's about an eight second race track so there's a lot of action, a lot of wheel to wheel, a lot of rubbing, bumper to bumper racing," Lance Anderson, a Race Promoter, said.
Bed races kick off the fun at 2pm on Sunday followed by the parade through downtown Belvidere and a fireworks show in the evening at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
