Harvard Man Arrested After Courthouse Altercation

MCHENRY COUNTY (WIFR) – A Harvard man has been arrested for hitting a man in the face while inside the McHenry County Courthouse.

20-year-old Daniel Stott was charged with aggravated battery after police responded to the courthouse for reports of an altercation in the third floor hallway.

The incident happened just after 9:00 a.m. on October 7th. Police say the victim was sitting in the hallway waiting for a family member when he was approached by 20-year-old Daniel Stott and a family member of Stott’s. A verbal fight began between the three until the fight escalated and Stott began striking the victim in the face. Police had to break up the fight.

Stott was taken into custody and is being held on $20,000 bond. His next court date is October 15, 2013.
