MACHESNEY PARK (WIFR) -- Fabric retailer Hancock Fabrics, headquartered in Baldwyn, Miss., will celebrate the opening of a new store in Machesney Park, Ill. on Sept. 28, 2013.
Hancock Fabrics’ new format stores are designed with new fixtures to maximize the selection of fabric and sewing notions while providing a more comfortable shopping experience with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. “The Machesney Park location is the second store we have opened with this new concept and we are excited to show it to our customers,” said Dennis Lyons, senior vice president of store operations. “This format was conceived with our customer in mind and we believe it will allow us to offer a greater selection of products and service that our customers have come to expect from Hancock Fabrics.”
The company will commemorate the occasion with a grand opening sale on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at the 1049 West Lane, Machesney Crossings Shopping Center location that will include one-day only specials and drawings for gift cards.

Hancock Fabrics is moving into the old Fashion Bug at 173 and North Second Street. Machesney Park’s Community Development Coordinator Greg Anderson says he's not sure yet how many jobs Hancock Fabrics will bring, or when exactly the store is opening.
