ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Remaining charges have been dismissed against a 26-year-old man in connection to a three-year old Rockford murder.
Clifford Horton is still awaiting sentencing for mob action. A judge has dismissed other firearms charges in the shooting death of Charles Spivey in January 2011.
Horton was found not guilty of murder back in October. The judge says the weapons chargers he was still facing could have been considered double jeopardy. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s office is planning on appealing the gun charges.
